Generally speaking, manganese ore is divided into manganese carbonate ore and manganese oxide ore. Most of the manganese ores are embedded with fine grains or micro particles, high iron ore, high phosphorus ore and associated metal content, and difficult to process.
1、Oxidized manganese ore beneficiation
(1) the nature of the ore
Manganese oxide minerals are mainly manganese ore, soft manganese ore and hydrogen manganese ore, and the veins are mainly silicate minerals and carbonate minerals; usually accompanied by iron, phosphorus, nickel, cobalt and other components. It is enriched by primary sedimentary manganese ore or manganese-bearing rocks after weathering. Compared with primary sedimentary manganese ore, it has the characteristics of high grade, less impurities and easy to be selected.
(2)Beneficiation method
The beneficiation method of manganese oxide ore is mainly re-election. Weathered manganese oxide ore often contains a large amount of mud and powder ore, and the production adopts the method of washing and re-election. The original ore is washed by water to remove mud, part of the washed ore can be used as finished ore, and part of it needs to be reclassified by vibrating screen. The overflow minerals sometimes need to be further recovered by gravity or magnetic separation. For some sedimentary primary manganese oxide ores, due to mining depletion, the production uses heavy dielectric and jump re-election to remove the vein stones and get lumpy concentrate. In iron-bearing manganese oxide ores, the iron minerals are mainly limonite in iron-bearing manganese oxide ores. It is difficult to separate iron and manganese by re-election, flotation or strong magnetic separation, and the method of reduction roasting magnetic separation can only be used. The industry uses ore washing - reduction roasting - magnetic separation - re-election process flow.

2、Manganese carbonate beneficiation
(1) the nature of the ore
Manganese carbonate is the raw material for the production of electrolytic manganese metal. Manganese carbonate ore is a kind of mixed primary manganese ore with high manganese, high sulfur, high silver, high lead and high zinc, which has high comprehensive recovery value. Manganese carbonate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula MnCO3, which exists in nature in the form of rhodochrosite.
(2)Beneficiation method
The beneficiation of manganese carbonate is mainly flotation and strong magnetic separation, and a variety of beneficiation methods can also be used for beneficiation. Sedimentary manganese carbonate, for some sedimentary manganese carbonate containing sulfur, the industry uses carbonaceous shale, pyrite and manganese minerals in the order of priority flotation process. In sedimentary manganese carbonate ore, the ore is generally complex, and the manganese minerals are embedded in micron-sized fine grains, which are not easily decomposed, and it is often difficult to obtain high concentrate grades. Hydrothermal lead-zinc manganese carbonate ore, part of the hydrothermal lead-zinc manganese carbonate ore uses flotation-strong magnetic separation process. The magnetic separator can not only effectively remove manganese ore mud, but also improve the separation level of flotation, and get manganese concentrate products directly after desulfurization. Sulfur-rich manganese carbonate ore, part of the sulfur-rich manganese ore is mainly pyrite, which can be desulfurized by roasting. Some manganese carbonate rich ores are also roasted to remove volatile components and get finished ore.
